2/13/2009 Happy Friday the 13th... and Season 2 Cover Art

Happy Friday the 13th everyone. How are you all enjoying Season 1 on DVD. Let us all know in the forums. In case you have been under a rock (or just watching too much Season 1), Season 2 came out on DVD this week. Make sure that you support the series by buying a copy at your favorite retailer. Hopefully, it will do well enough that Season 3 won't be too far behind. This season was more mature than the first in the writing, the acting, and production values. A few special guests make their appearance in this season, too. Maybe your favorite is here. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the cover art for Season 2.

7/19/2008 Here is the final cover art...

Well the final DVD set cover art for Season One has arrived. What do you think? I like it much better than the earlier one, but I was still hoping for something a bit different. As I have said before, I am still unbelievably elated that the series is finally coming to DVD. Make sure you all pre-order this gem to help guarantee that the remaining seasons come out as well. Dont forget to let us know what you think in the forums. Visit TVShowsOnDVD to get more information about this and other DVDs.

6/14/2008 Check out this possible cover art...

Wow! The information is starting to pour in. Here is the first of what will probably be several possible cover art designs. I don't really care for this particular one because it doesn't remind me of the series very much. It makes me think of the movie "Saw" more than F13:TS. It seems to have that same style of graphics. Regardless, I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself. Jump into the forums and let us know what you think.

6/13/2008 Friday the 13th: The Series on DVD Finally!!!

After years of frustration watching homemade versions go for mega bucks on Ebay, we are finally getting Friday the 13th: The Series on DVD!!! The release date for season 1 is scheduled for September 23, 2008. Many thanks to all of you who have written to Paramount to encourage them to release the series. Make sure you buy this season so they will be inclined to release the remaining seasons. Hop on over to Amazon.com to pre-order your copy.

Have a happy Friday the 13th!

1/12/2007 A new place to watch Friday the 13th: The Series

Variety reported today that NBC Universal is starting a new network called Chiller:

The cable network will launch March 1 and initially be seen in 12 million homes via a carriage deal with DirecTV. The channel also will be offered on DirecTV's new tier of 100 HD channels slated to roll out later this year, the trade paper reported.
...
Chiller will take advantage of NBC U's deep reservoir of horror-related TV shows (Alfred Hitchcock Presents) and films (The Shining, Psycho), many of them from the old MCA library. But Gaspin said the cabler also has acquired programming from other companies, including 20th Century Fox TV, Sony, Warner Brothers TV and Lionsgate.

Other programming assets include Twin Peaks, Tales From the Crypt, Freddy's Nightmares and Friday the 13th: The Series.

Of obvious importance to us is the "other programming asset" called Friday the 13th: The Series. One can only hope that this will bring out renewed interest in getting the series on DVD. Not included in the snippet above is info about how they are also trying to reach other cable systems. So, don't despair if you don't have DirecTV. Start calling, fans!

2/25/06 A Curse on TimSlim10...

Well, we got hacked again. This time by some jerk calling himself TimSlim10. Malicious hackers are the lowest form of life. This monster cost me a whole weekend away from my family while I was trying to recover everything. I hope his hard drive crashes and burns.

At least it wasn't a complete waste of time. There have been a lot of spambots joining with their online poker web pages. The new version of the forums has a feature that now requires a visual acknowledgement to join. Hopefully, it will cut down on that trash, too. Let me know if you see anything amiss.

Salem Hill - Mimi's Magic Moment
Since I have relayed some of my musical tastes in the past, I thought I would take a "magic moment" to introduce some e-friends of mine. Salem Hill plays a blend of progressive rock that is reminiscent of Kansas and King's X. They are all excellent, top-notch musicians that create my favorite style of music. This album, to use a cliche, is their "...Wall", their "...Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" without the requisite member leaving the band. Four epic songs take you on a journey through several epiphanies. If you are not shivering and/or crying by the end of this album, your humanity is in question. Follow the album cover link to purchase the CD or listen to some audio clips from the album, or follow the title link to learn more about Salem Hill.

1/13/06 A New Post on Friday the 13th...

Wow! I can't believe I let a whole year go by without an update. Well, I've been busy settling in to my new life in Atlanta, GA. I also had a nasty hacker wipeout the forums. They don't get much use, but I wanted to get them back to normal. Check them out and say "hi" in there. Unfortunately there is still no sign of Friday the 13th: The Series on DVD. Although, they have released the War of the Worlds series, season 1 on DVD. I always felt they were related, so maybe that will help. Anyway, thanks for visiting and have a happy Friday the 13th.

8/13/04 Happy Friday the 13th!!! ...Again!

It's been a while since I posted anything. Infact, it has been since the last Friday the 13th. You see, I lost my job back in October of 2003 from a company at which I was a founding engineer. The company is WhereNet, for those interested. It has taken me until a month ago to find a job that met my criteria. Yes, there was a lot of bitterness at first but thanks to God that I'm past that. Between these times, though, updating the web site was the last thing on my mind. I'm living in Atlanta while my family tries to sell our house in Tennessee. Every other week I get to see them. This is one of those weeks! So, enjoy today. Watch an episode or two that you have on tape (or DVD... you lucky ones). I'll be having a great weekend, too.

2/13/04 Happy Friday the 13th!!!

Maybe I should have used a scarier title. ;^) I just wanted to welcome all of you that come to the site today. The forums have been pretty slow as of late, so make sure you visit them and start some conversation. I sure do miss the late night Friday the 13th: The Series marathons that SciFi used to have on Friday the 13th. Maybe with the new horror channel launching this fall we'll get to see the greatest show on television again. Later...

12/08/03 Wall collapse on theater used in the episode "The Scarlet Cinema" falls on nearby school.

I received information from David Winning (Director for "The Sweetest Sting", "The Scarlet Cinema", and "Jack in the Box") about a F13:TS landmark coming down: the theater used for filming "The Scarlet Cinema". Unfortunately, there appear to be tragic results. ABCNews.com is reporting that at least one person died and many more were injured as a result of this accident. I know many of you look for certain episode landmarks around Toronto. This time you might pause and offer your prayers and thoughts for those killed and injured.

9/21/03 Is Friday the 13th: The Series coming to DVD?!?!

Breaking News: DVDFile.com is reporting that Paramount is considering the TV series for release on DVD! Wow! Could there be any better news than that. Given the junk I have seen released on DVD in recent months, I can't believe that a quality show like this hasn't been considered already. I would encourage all of you fans to write or call Paramount and let them know that you would support the release of the series on DVD. I believe that real letters work better than email, so consider sending your thoughts through the US Postal service. I know it has been a while but surely we all remember the old days of pencil and paper. ;^) You can reach Paramount at the following address and phone number:

Paramount Studios
5555 Melrose Avenue
Hollywood, CA 90038
(323) 956-5000

For more information from DVDFile.com, check out their link to the news archive (mid-way down the page).
